LEARN AND EDUCATE

We believe that knowledge can change actions and make a difference. We are constantly learning about climate change, the Jewish values that compel us to action, the federal, state and city policies necessary and the personal change that we can make, something we call Living in Balance.

We draw upon what we learn to educate others. We speak in our shuls, offer educational panels, films and events, and create resources that you can find shared here on this website.

JCAN NYC monthly meetings

JCAN NYC members meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm EST. We bring in a variety of speakers to educate on specific issues, campaigns, and local efforts. We open every meeting with a Nigun and a D’rash, as well as share updates and action opportunities. Newcomers are always welcome. Sign up for our newsletter and like us Facebook to get meeting updates!

synagogues

Part of our mission is to help synagogues center a Jewish ecological consciousness. We are a resource for congregational green teams. We can also offer pathways to engage congregants in climate work at the city and state level, supporting renewable energy and environmental justice campaigns.
